New Obama Administration regulations have just been released, pushing back the selection and payment deadline for public health care exchanges from Dec. 15th to Dec. 23rd.
The Dec. 23 deadline applies to various federal exchange plans, including Small Business Health Options Program QHPs, multi-state plans and standalone dental pans.
State-based exchanges can push the payment deadline for coverage that starts Jan. 1 back to Jan. 31 if the state is willing to accept such enrollments.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will publish the regs in the Federal Register next week.
The regulations will take effect Sunday.
