Around 78,000 Idahoans don’t qualify for Medicaid, and private healthcare might cost too much for some.
Stephen Weeg, a member of the Medicaid Expansion Work Group is worried about the future for Idahoans:
“Fifty-four thousand people applied for health coverage through Your Health Idaho to get a tax credit to buy insurance. Unfortunately, they were found to be to poor too get health insurance and because Idaho does not use Medicaid to cover that population, they’re left uninsured. They live every day at risk of serious health care issues,”
According to Your Health Idaho, 85,000 Idahoans have enrolled in health insurance plans through the state health exchange.
