Get Ahead of the Open Enrollment Curve

Preparations for the open enrollment and Medicare enrollment season are already underway.

Not thinking about this yet? You should.

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) goes into effect January 1, 2020. What does that mean for you?

MACRA legislation reached a compromise that targets first dollar coverage for Medicare supplement for those aging into Medicare. It states that individuals who become newly eligible for Medicare as of Jan. 1, 2020 or after, will not have the option to purchase Medicare Supplement plans which cover the Part B deductible.

This will change the availability of some plans coming into Medicare. If you are already on Medicare, this change will not affect the current plan you are on.

Insurance can be a dry and boring subject to keep tabs on, but an educated client often stays ahead of the curve and avoids potential trouble more so than those who do not keep track of the current trends.

We understand it isn’t the most fun topic in the world, but insurance in general is one of the most important things we have in our society. Don’t be caught in the end of the season with no knowledge of what is available to you.
