It was reported today that hackers have broken into HealthCare.gov
The hackers installed malicious software that could be used to launch attacks originating from the federal insurance portal.
The Department of Health and Human Services said the website component that was breached was being used for testing, and didn’t contain consumer names, birthdates, Social Security numbers or income details.
Although the initial intrusion took place July 8, it wasn’t detected until August 25th during a manual scan of system logs.
