White House: “Obamacare” website faces end of November fix

White House officials say Healthcare.gov should be working smoothly for most users by the end of November.

Last Friday, it was announced that Quality Software Services Inc., or QSSI, will oversee the repairs.

“By the end of November, the vast majority of consumers will be able to successfully and smoothly enroll through Healthcare.gov,” a QSSI representative said.

Ironically, the Obama Administration said it a technology company has never overseen the entire project.  Instead, the government decided early on that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services would serve as the system integrator.

At a congressional panel about problems with the system, QSSI said it developed the federal data hub and a software tool for creating online consumer accounts.  Both features have been implicated as prime factors behind the system’s early logjam problems.

QSSI has brought in technology experts to prioritize the repairs. Based on that assessment, they described Healthcare.gov as being “fixable.”
