The following is specific for PacificSource Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage:
PacificSource has announced a change in how Medicare requires plans to administer their prescription drug benefits. This change may likely mean clients will be paying slightly lower copayments for a one-month supply of their medications, and may differ from plan documents.
A new Medicare rule for 2014 mandates prorated copayments to be applied to prescriptions written for less than a one month supply. That means you will have to pay a prorated amount for any prescription lasting less than 31 days.
So, PacificSource has announced that it will cover 31 days of medication as a one-month supply.
Please see the table below for detailed copayment amounts.
Listed Copayment | Copayment that will be charged for a ‘30’ day supply |
|
Tier 1 | $4.00 | $3.87 |
Tier 2 | $10.00 | $9.68 |
Tier 3 | $45.00 | $43.55 |
Tier 4 | $95.00 | $91.94 |
