The annual Medicare Advantage enrollment has CHANGED from November 15th – December 31st; it is now from October 15, 2011 thru December 7, 2011.
You can change your Medicare Advantage plan for 2012 during this enrollment period.
This is the only time that you can make a change to your Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage Part D coverage.
These changes made, (if you do make a change) to your plan will go into effect January 1, 2012.
There is a replacement of open enrollment which is now called “Annual Disenrollment Period” allows for disenrollment from a Medicare Advantage Plan between January 1, 2011 and February 14, 2011, but does not allow for a person to re-apply for another Advantage plan until the next annual election (annual enrollment) period.
Some rates may have increased on existing Medicare Advantage plan in Idaho, but there may be other possible options of lower cost premium plans available.
