Medicaid Reform for Idaho Unlikely

A panel appointed by Gov. Otter Idaho has concluded that lawmakers are unlikely to offer recommendations on Medicaid reform this year.

State Rep. Tom Loertscher (R-Iona) said that he had “invited lawmakers to talk about Medicaid redesign, but only three out of the 105 legislators met with him.”

Consequently, House Majority Leader Mike Moyle (R-Star) said, “There’s no desire to touch this thing.”

The committee is expected to produce a report for the governor September 1.
