Health Reform Tax Credit

If you are a small business owner with less than 25 employees and a workforce with an average wage up to $50,000, you may be eligible for a tax credit.  It is simple to find out.

Many Small Businesses Unaware of Health Reform Tax Credit.

The Kansas City Star (9/20, Stafford) reports, “For the nation’s smallest businesses, parts of the health care law already are in effect, and more provisions will kick in when state health insurance exchanges are due to open for enrollment in two years.” Already, the healthcare law “makes tax credits available for some small businesses that cover at least half of the health insurance premium cost for their employees.” But a study conducted “by Small Business Majority, a small-business advocacy group, indicates that fewer than half of the eligible 4.8 million small businesses — about 80 percent of all US employers — are aware of the tax credit, which is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2010.”
