Expect to Pay for Healthcare in 2016

Bureau of Economic Analysis data indicates that on average, household spending on healthcare in 2015 was $8,247. Other estimates say that we can expect a 6.5% increase in healthcare spending in 2016.

An equal number of Idahoans said they expect to pay at least the same for healthcare in 2016 as they did in 2015. Idaho ranks last of all the states in healthcare affordability and accessibility. In fact, adults under 65 years old with high out-of-pocket medical costs relative to their income was greater in 2013 and 2014 than in any other state except Tennessee.
